1 night stay, food was good, staff very helpful as always.

We tried to check in early as we were at a wedding during the day. The receptionist said unfortunately this wasn’t possible despite letting other people to do so and would let us know as soon as a room was available (no one contacted us at all). They offered to hold our bags but we later just found it unattended in the reception area. When we finally were able to check in, we were given a room with one tiny fan with a window that only opened 2 inches. When we queried this with reception, they said unfortunately all air con rooms were taken. We paid a lot more than other guests who had air con but the receptionist said it all depends on who you book with but she wasn’t clear on which websites would be best for booking rooms with air con. As for the room, there was no hot water for the shower and it was impossible to sleep in with the heat. Overall, this is quite an upsetting experience, especially when paying over £160 for the night.
